”I don’t believe in the wisdom of children, nor in the wisdom of the old. There is a moment, a cusp, when the sum of gathered experience is worn down by the details of the living. We are never so wise as when we live in the moment.”⁣

⁣This Pulitzer Prize nominated biography is so beautiful, heartbreaking and moving. If you haven’t yet read it, I cannot recommend it enough! Written by Paul Kalanithi, the book follows the 35-year-old’s journey from neurosurgeon to patient as he fights and loses his battle against lung cancer. Kalanithi passed away while writing the book, so the ending was completed by his wife.⁣

⁣In just 208 pages, this quick and poetic read will leave you shook. In the face of certain death, Kalanithi raises questions that will make you contemplate ”what makes a virtuous and meaningful life”.
