May 2022 Wrap Up
✨MAY WRAP UP✨
Only a few days late 🤪. This month’s drawing is inspired by my recent travels to Lagos, Portugal.
A quick recap of the six books I read in May:
✨The Siren: Chaos ensues on the film set of The Siren, which is being shot on a lush island in the Caribbean. If you’re looking for a thriller beach read, give this one a try!
💛Thank you to Grand Central Publishing for the gifted copy
✨The Latecomer: The latest from the author of The Plot, this novel explores what happens when a fourth sibling is born nearly two decades after her triplet siblings. Fans of character-driven family dramas will enjoy this one.
💛Thank you to Celadon Books for the gifted copy
✨Memphis: A debut historical fiction novel following three generations of Black women living in the South and searching for joy despite the unjust and traumatic events their family endures.
💛Thank you to Literati for the gifted copy
✨Trust: Another historical fiction novel - highly recommend for history buffs and/or those interested in finance. Trust explores the accumulation of one (fictional) family’s wealth and the various theories surrounding their ability to thrive in spite of the precarious economic conditions of the Great Depression and beyond.
✨A House Between Earth and the Moon: A sci-fi story about a group of “pioneers” living aboard the first civilian space station, which is intended to serve as both a research facility as well as a luxurious off-world home for the ultra wealthy.
💛Thank you to Viking Books for the gifted copy
✨The Lioness: The latest from the author of The Flight Attendant, this thriller/historical fiction novel follows a (fictional) Hollywood starlet and her group of friends as they venture to the Serengeti for a safari (that goes terribly wrong).
💛Thank you to Doubleday Books for the gifted copy
What was the best book for you read in May??
