It’s official. I’m a huge Blake Crouch fan. After reading Recursion (which was easily a five star read for me), I couldn’t wait to pick up Dark Matter. It did not disappoint.

⁣This book had me hooked from the first chapter. The story begins when Jason, an ordinary physics professor, is abducted by a masked stranger. After being knocked unconscious, Jason awakens in a lab to an excited team in hazmat suits welcoming him back. This strange occurrence followed by a series of equally perplexing interactions makes it clear to Jason that the world he has awaked into is not his own. While he is still Jason Dessen, he is now a world-renowned physicist. In this world, he and his wife never married and their son Charlie was never born. As Jason beings to question the nature of his reality, he confronts the difficult task of finding his way back to his family and the life he remembers.

⁣If you’re a fan of sci-fis and/or thrillers or just need a fast read to pull yourself out of a reading slump, this is a must-read. I finished this one in under 24 hours… I just couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. I’m excited to report that Sony has plans to turn Dark Matter into a feature film (although I couldn’t find any details about casting and/or release date). If you’re a fan of Blake Crouch, you’ll also be happy to know that Netflix recently acquired the rights to Recursion and have plans to adapt it into both a movie AND a series.

⁣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

⁣I’m now on the hunt for other thrilling sci-fi novels. If you have any recommendations, drop me a comment!
