October Wrap Up
✨OCTOBER WRAP UP✨
Such a fun month of reading! I always love to read as many thrillers as possible during Spooky Season. A quick recap of the 11 books I read this month…
—And Then There Were None: This classic Agatha Christie murder-mystery takes place in a spooky mansion on a private island where a group of visitors realize there is a murderer within their midst.
—Black Girls Must Die Exhausted: The first book in a three-novel series that focuses on Tabatha Walker, a strong-willed, career-focused Black girl struggling to juggle her job as a newscaster, looming infertility, a recent breakup and family drama.
—The Acts of Life: A romance/thriller about two twins, their love lives and the lies that come to light when tragedy strikes - fans of Verity will love this one!
—Minor Feelings: A collection of short stories that focuses on the Asian American experience and discusses race, ethics, art history and culture.
—The Good Sister: A comedic thriller/family drama about two sisters who lead very different lives, but are bonded by a dark secret from their past.
—A Man Called Ove: This tale of unexpected friendship stars a grumpy man, called Ove, who finds his plans to commit suicide thwarted time and again by neighbors and various obligations.
—Under the Whispering Door: A fantastical and heart-warming story about what happens after we die - starring a cast of entertaining ghosts, humans and something in-between.
—Razorblade Tears: A guns-blazing, action-packed thriller about two ex-cons who team up to hunt down those responsible for the murder of their gay sons.
—The Last Thing He Told Me: A domestic-thriller and Reese’s Book Club selection about a woman who must unravel a web of lies and secrets after her husband suddenly disappears.
—For Your Own Good: An academia-thriller starring a slightly deranged Teacher of the Year and a slew of mysterious deaths at the prestigious Belmont Academy.
—Harlem Shuffle: A crime fiction story about a furniture salesman in 1960s Harlem who becomes involved in a life of crime after a botched heist.
My favorites this Spooktober were Under the Whispering Door, Minor Feelings and The Acts of Life. What were yours??
