Exploring Livraria Bertrand in Lisbon, Portugal

Welcome to the oldest bookstore in Europe!

Located in Lisbon, Portugal, Livraria Bertrand was founded in 1732. According to The Guinness Book of World Records, it’s the world’s oldest bookstore still in operation. 🤩.

The majority of the books filling Bertrand’s shelves are in Portuguese (swipe to see the Portuguese editions of some bookstagram favorites!), though the collection does include a small English section. There’s also an adorable little cafe located in the back of the store.
