June Wrap Up

June Wrap up drawing_FINAL.jpg

I read so many incredible books in June. Of all the wonderful books included in this month’s wrap up, my favorites were easily Station Eleven and Cultish (both five star reads for me). Bath Haus also deserves an honorable mention, as it was one of the most unique and captivating thrillers I’ve read in recent years. 🤩

Since I’ve only managed to post full reviews for about half of these books so far, here is a quick recap…

✨Cultish: Incredible work of nonfiction about how language helps to create and sustain modern-day cults and other cult-like groups.

✨The House in the Cerulean Sea: A family-friendly tale about love and acceptance with magical characters galore.

✨Less: A Pulitzer Prize winning satirical story about a washed-up writer’s travels around the world.

✨Disability Visibility: A collection of short stories documenting the experiences of disabled Americans

✨Station Eleven: A masterful post-apocalyptic novel that explores the human condition after the collapse of modern society

✨The Boys Club: a fictional yet very real account of one woman’s attempt to infiltrate “the boys club” and find success in a highly competitive law firm.

✨Of Woman And Salt: A historical fiction story that focuses on the plight of Central American immigrants to the United States

✨The Hunting Wives: Think Desperate Housewives but with skeet shooting and a a murder mystery

✨Bath Haus: A thriller featuring a gay couple whose perfect life becomes threatened after a near-deadly visit to a bathhouse

✨While Justice Sleeps: A fictional legal thriller (by the queen Stacey Abrams) that follows a legal clerk’s attempt to uncover a dark conspiracy after a Supreme Court Justice falls into a coma.

Stay tuned for full reviews of all my June reads! What was the best book you read in June??
