✨AUGUST WRAP UP✨

So many good books this month! A quick recap of what I read…

✨The Mother Code: A futuristic tale about a man-made virus that threatens to extinct the human race and the plan to use robots and AI technology to ensure a group of immune children survive.

✨Homegoing: A beautiful multi-generational saga tracing the lineage of two fictional Ghanaian sisters across two centuries and continents.

✨Piranesi: A fantastical tale about a man living in an otherworldly home with endless corridors and mysteries.

✨Hamnet: An exceptional historical fiction book that recounts the family drama and tragedy that inspired Shakespeare’s famous play, Hamlet

✨The Sympathizer: A Pulitzer Prize winning fiction novel about an undercover communist spy and the legacy of the Vietnam War.

✨Miracle Creek: A gripping legal thriller about the aftermath of a deadly explosion and the immigrant family caught in the middle.

✨Somebody’s Daughter: A heart-wrenching memoir about a young Black girl coming-of-age while her father is in prison.

✨The Office of Historical Corrections: A series of fictional short stories exploring race, culture and US history.

While I really enjoyed all of the books I read this month, I think Hamnet, Homegoing and The Sympathizer will all make my list of 2021 favorites 🤩.

Have you read any of these?? What was the best book you read in August?
