April 2022 Wrap Up
✨APRIL WRAP UP✨
A quick recap of the 10 books I read in April:
📚The Girl With Seven Names: An incredible true story of one asylum seeker’s escape from North Korea.
📚Mouth to Mouth: A bizarre story within a story about a man who saves a stranger from drowning and the aftermath.
📚A Novel Obsession: A novel about an obsessive girlfriend who begins stalking her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend in order to write about her.
📚Finlay Donovan Knocks Em Dead: Taking off where “Finlay Donovan Is Killing It” left off, Finlay - a fiction writer - attempts to find out who wants her ex-husband dead while struggling to finish her next novel.
📚 Cover Story: A college student interning at Elle magazine forms a friendship with a mysterious and fabulously wealthy Austrian heiress who is not what she seems.
📚Portrait of a Thief: A debut novel featuring a group of college students who devise a heist to steal back priceless Chinese art from museums across the world and return it to China in exchange for a huge payday.
📚Disorientation: A satirical debut novel starring a quirky Taiwanese American doctoral candidate who makes a life-changing discovery while researching a famous Chinese American poet for her dissertation. My April Literati book with Malalas’s book club.
📚Tripping Arcadia: A mystery about a med-school drop out hired to help oversee the medical needs of a prominent Boston family… this includes late-night shifts caring for the drunk and drugged at the family’s Gatsby-esque parties.
📚The Night Shift: A thriller about two eerily similar mass murders twenty years a part and the attempt to solve the mystery behind the two brutal events. Perfect for fans of In My Dreams I Hold a Knife and/or No Exit.
📚The Book of M: When a strange affliction - which begins with individuals losing their shadows and ultimately their memories - takes over the world, survivors attempt to find a path forward. Think Station Eleven but with more fantasy.
My favorite book this month was The Girl With Seven Names - an absolutely incredible and inspiring story that I recommend to all! I also really enjoyed Disorientation & Tripping Arcadia. 💗
